Model Linac
A Lego Radiotherapy Machine Model
A Lego set, designed by Connor from Connor’s Bricks, created to help lower anxiety in those going through Head and Neck Cancer Treatment.
The Story:
Why would a 15 year old design a Lego set of a Linac?
In mid 2018, Connor’s grandmother was diagnosed with a tumor on her neck, which needed a six week radiotherapy treatment (made up of thirty individual daily treatments).
Also at around that time, Dr. Sean Geoghegan (SA State Director, Radiation Oncology Medical Physics) met Connor at a local Lego exhibition and they discussed how Lego could play a part in helping patients, especially children, cope with the anxiety that can often come along with radiotherapy treatment.
Since that time, Connor has been (with the wonderful support of Julie McCrossin and Sean Geoghegan), gradually working on designing and refining his model, to reach the point where he can make them available for sale as a set.
Model Features
